There is a story that goes like this ....

One warm summer's evening, a woman and her son were walking home from the local market. Along the way, the woman began to tell her son about a flower.

"Dad and I were walking this way recently and I saw this flower I really wanted because it.... "

And without hesitation or hearing the rest of the story, the son immediately jumped high up next to a cement wall which held back a large selection of roses on the other side.

The woman suddenly heard her son yell out, "Ow!"
"What happened?", she asked.

The woman then noticed a little blood dripping down his finger from a thorn-prick as he handed her a vine bearing two pink roses. One rose older and fading, the other younger and more vibrant.

"Aw! Did you think this was the flower I desired?
"Yeah", he answered.
"You're such a sweetheart, and very thoughtful," she told her son.

In the days that passed, each time the woman saw the roses in the vase, she knew that even after the flowers had died, she would always remember his loving act.
